Featuring combinations of vintage and found objects, hardware, stones, glass, beads, chain and wire, in four types of metal — gunmetal, brass, stainless steel and silver, each is a one-of-a-kind unique creation, handmade in the Monkeyshines studio.

I’m not entirely sure if the term “spacepunk” applies, but I’m going to go with it, because these items are inspired by two of my loves — STEAMPUNK and FIREFLY (a sci-fi cult-classic western set, mostly, in space). My spacepunk creations illustrate the ancient human urge to extract adornment from any environment, even a rim-world spaceport on the raggedy edge of the ‘verse.

Great cosplay, costuming or convention item for Browncoats! It took months of searching to finally find a pendant to match the necklace worn by the sultry villainess “Saffron” from the cult TV show FIREFLY, during the opening scene of the episode “Trash” while she is brawling with Mal (she wears a different necklace later during the Lassiter heist). See pictures from the episode here. But the company that sold these pendants has discontinued them! And the larger brown beads are vintage acrylic that I found in a specialty bead store. I bought as many as I could of the beads and pendants, and I’ve sold several of these necklaces. But now I only have enough materials to make two more. Get it while you can
