Brass earrings with dragonfly charms, on leverback ear wires. Only one pair available, designed and handmade in my private studio. Measure 1-1/2 inches long, not including ear wires (image enlarged to show details). Gift boxed. I’m told that brass is nickel-free, as it is an alloy of copper and zinc, sometimes with aluminum. When people are “allergic” to earrings, nickel is often the culprit, and nickel can be present in sterling silver, gold, and even surgical steel.

Wells, the Victorian period, the Edwardian era, art nouveau, and movies like ‘Howl’s Moving Castle,’ ‘Wild Wild West,’ ‘Return to Oz,’ ‘Stardust,’ the Harry Potter films, ‘Time Machine,’ ‘Somewhere in Time,’ and ‘Time After Time.’ And for several years now, I’ve been making jewelry inspired by art nouveau and earlier eras and jewelry using vintage or found materials. But I didn’t start making “Steampunk” jewelry until last year, when a friend of mine told me that there was a name for this sort of thing!
