Hill Tribe Silver & Ceramic Necklace

July 15th, 2008 by monkeyshinesbeadery

msb-078-ht.jpg$20.00 - Item#N078HTS

The centerpiece of this necklace is a Hill Tribe Silver bead with floral patterns, complemented with pink and brown ceramic beads and more Hill Tribe Silver beads. Hill Tribe Silver is made by the Karen Hill Tribe in northern Thailand using traditional tribal methods passed down from generation to generation, and has a higher silver content than sterling (which is 92.5% silver), so is more resistant to tarnish. Necklace measures just over 16 inches long (choker length), with sterling silver clasp and ends, on double strand of brown leather. Sterling silver 2-inch extension chain may be added upon request for $3.00 more. Image enlarged below to show detail. One of a kind creation from the Monkeyshines studio, only one available, the picture shows exactly the item you will receive. Gift boxed.

This item sold for $39.99 on eBay.

This is a one-of-a-kind steampunk “Tea Time” necklace, assembled with new and vintage materials, in mixed metals (copper, brass and silver). I designed and created this piece using pocket watch parts, faceted Czech glass beads, brass chain, clock charm, teapot and teacup charms, brass Victorian-style hand, and other findings. Adjustable between about 15 and 17 inches long. Typewriter style letter charms measure 3/4-inch across. Enlarged photo shows details.

SOLD Steampunk Angel Necklace

July 10th, 2008 by monkeyshinesbeadery

msb-078-spangel2.jpg$12.00 - Item#SP078-ANGEL

A gear-operated guardian angel… This is a fun little piece I put together with brass-finish pewter wings, faceted translucent glass beads, and tiny gears from a broken wrist watch. The “halo” is also a watch gear. Pendant/charm measures 1-inch high, not including ring at top (enlarged image below, to show details). Comes on an 18-inch brass chain. The glass is clear, like crystal, though the image shows it looking a little gray — that’s an issue with the picture, not the item. One of a kind creation from the Monkeyshines studio, only one available, the picture shows exactly the item you will receive. Gift boxed.

SOLD Spiral Stone Bracelet

July 10th, 2008 by monkeyshinesbeadery

msb-078-stones.jpg$12.00 - Item#B078SST

Evoking the energy of earth… this bracelet features stones and glass spiral beads linked with silver-plated European wire. Slightly adjustable around 7-1/2 inches long, which is just a little longer than the “average” women’s bracelet length of 7 inches (image slightly enlarged to show detail). One of a kind creation from the Monkeyshines studio, only one available, the picture shows exactly the item you will receive. Gift boxed.

Note from the artist: I love working with stones. And while gems and semi-precious stones are beautiful, I also love the deep earthiness of unassuming stones. I have no idea what these are, they were sold simply as “stone beads.” But they are delightfully soft, solid and grounding. Spirals are ancient decorative and religious motifs, going back thousands of years. — Jen

This one is on a double-strand of brown leather cord, with Greek ceramic bead accents. The picture shows exactly the item you will receive. Gift boxed.
