Sometimes I just like making something simple. Too often, I think jewelry artists get carried away with making pieces more and more complex and expensive, and they forget about casual style, comfort and affordability. This cute necklace features glass beads and a Christensen furnace glass heart (made in the USA). I wish I could get a picture of the side of the heart, the colors run through the glass, which is 1/4-inch thick. The heart is 5/8-inch high. Necklace is adjustable around 19 inches long. Everyone’s a hero in their own way… but mostly Captain Hammer! This is my very first foray into the realm of polymer clay, inspired by Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. I used Fimo and created my own cane, yay! (Well, it wasn’t much of a “cane” — I only got a few usable pendants out of it.) I know I’ve got a lot to learn, but I think the result is still pretty fun!

I have ONE ladies necklace with the yellow beads (shown here), and ONE ladies necklace with a slightly different bead embellishment. The ladies is on 18-inch black cotton cord with a clasp. I have TWO gents necklaces, which come on thicker 20-inch black cotton cord with clasp, no beads. The pendants and the necklaces are all handmade by me. Due to natural variations in the creation process, pendants may vary slightly from the ones show above. Gift boxed.

The sea is calling… The lampwork beads in this bracelet were created by Brendan Blake, an American glass artist. They look to me like he’s captured seaweed and water inside glass. I linked them with heavy 18-gauge sterling silver links, and added a lobster claw clasp, accents of Czech glass, a sterling silver mermaid charm, and a star-shaped freshwater pearl. Measures 8-inches long, but due to the size of the lampwork beads (about 10×14mm) its actual diameter fits a 7-inch wrist, resizing available upon request. King and Queen faces are taken from reprinted images of an old Italian tarot deck, which is the origin of our modern playing cards. Faces are glued under a glass pebble. I can personally attest to the fact that such glued pebbles are difficult to remove (having tried to take apart previous items of similar construction), but they are not indestructible; keep away from water, cleaning chemicals, blunt force, etc. Accented with crimson Czech glass drops.
